Typography Vinyl Record Design
A Tribute to Twenty One Pilot's Song, Migraine
I created this project in the summer of 2020 as part of an assignment for an advanced graphic design course. The project brief instructed that the final design must only use elements of typography to tell a story.

Word Cloud
I began my design process by listening to the song on repeat, and jotting down all of the words that I associated with the mood of the song. I also explored how the title looked in different fonts.
Ideation Sketches
I started my sketches by exploring different compositions and type forms.
Digital Refinement
Once I had established a concept direction, I took some of my favorite concepts and explored them digitally.
Narrowing the Scope
Now that I had a wide variety of ideas, I chose a few that I liked and worked to refine them further.
Creating Assets
Now that I had decided on a direction, I needed to create the label sticker and back cover. Here are some of my early concepts for those assets.
Final Concepts
I mocked up my design in Adobe Photoshop to create a photorealistic presentation.
